Culligan AC-30 filters are produced from acid washed activated carbon. The carbon granules are then fused using a unique compression molding process. The result is a solid carbon block filter offering enhanced filtration performance and superior dirt-holding capacity.
This particular filter is secured from coconut shell carbon; 85-90% of the surface area of this substance is made up of micro-pores that purpose-built to trap tiny molecules of contaminants. Contaminants will merely bind to the carbon surface, while the liquid itself passes through. This adsorption process can be used to remove a variety of substances including chemical byproducts, pesticides, herbicides, halogens, color contaminants, odor-producing molecules, and chlorine. Unlike other filters, the activated carbon block filter will not strip water of its natural mineral nutrients. The adsorption process adds essential minerals like calcium and magnesium to your drinking supply.
Coconut shell carbon also offers high mechanical and tensile strength. This compact structure makes the Culligan AC-30 filter resistant to particulate attrition, as well as general wear and tear. The outer layer has been coated with high-purity polypropylene to increase durability and longevity even further. Filters should be replaced every six months to ensure optimal performance all year round.
The Culligan AC-30 filter has a 5-micron rating which means that it can quickly filter out small-to-medium sized sediment particles including sand, dirt, gravel, asbestos, rust and other granules.
