The Kemflo 5-Stage Reverse Osmosis Filter Set is made from high-quality components that deliver best-in-class contaminant rejection and superior performance throughout their useful life.
This set includes:
A 5 micron-rated sediment filter made from high-density polypropylene. This filter uses an integrated depth filtration system to separate particulate matter including dirt, rust, and sand. This filter should be replaced every six months or earlier depending on usage and water conditions.
Two separate extruded carbon block filters that are made by fusing granular activated carbon (GAC) particles together in a real body; this design provides a more effective surface area for filtration. The carbon block filters are used to remove/reduce a range of chemical contaminants including volatile organic compounds (VOCs), cysts, solvents, pesticides, and chlorine-related tastes and odors. These filters should be replaced every 12 months to ensure optimal performance.
At the fourth stage of the filtration process, a 50 GPD rated thin film membrane is used to remove remaining TDS (total dissolved solids in the water supply) including arsenic, lead, fluoride, chromium, radium, bacteria, viruses and much more. The TFM also offers 99% salt rejection rates, thus ensuring the taste and quality of water output. These are usually replaced every two years.
At the post-filter stage, a 10-inch advanced carbon coconut shell filter is used to polish the remaining water and remove all residual tastes and impurities from the output water. Again, these filters must be replaced every 12 months for best results.
